Void Hunters is a co-operative/competitive Board Game where the players begin as a team, only to see their comraderie slowly break down as players acquire new abilities, items and the power cores required to win the game.
The game has a heavy emphasis on emergent team building, as the chance that a single player will be able to collect all the power cores and escape on their own is slim. Astute players soon realise that their only chance at victory lies in teaming up with one or more players, and as the balance of power swings back and forth throughout the course of a game, players may come to regret their choice of allies.
Void hunters includes a lot of verticality in its map design, this gives it a sense of breadth whilst also allowing players to easily transverse the playing area in only a few actions.
Players begin their turns with a pool of Action Points, a list of actions, and relative freedom to carry them out. This gives the game the feeling of a short-session RPG or tactical simulation game, and grants players a fair amount of flexibility in choice and strategy during their turn.
